Community education seminar- Next speaker announced

With North QLD seminar dates fast approaching it is time to announce the final speaker set to take the stage alongside Trevor Rawnsley  & Jason Carlson  at the Strata Community education seminars in Cairns, Airlie Beach & Townsville.

Focused predominantly on dispute resolution, who could be better on a debating panel that is working towards creating harmony!

So who is North Queensland’s third panelist?

Introducing Mario Esera, litigation partner at HWL Ebsworth. Mario has specialised in Body Corporate law for more than a decade.

Mario’s main area of expertise is in relation to disputes, particularly management rights disputes, building defect claims, by-law enforcement, and levy recoveries.

Mario conducts disputes in all Queensland Courts, as well as the Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management and the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Mario primarily acts for Bodies Corporate and their Committees but also acts for property developers (original owners), management rights holders (caretakers and letting agents) and lot owners.

Mario is a member of the Australian College of Strata Lawyers and presented at their 2022 Annual Conference on the subjects of special levies, major works projects, and levy recoveries.

He is also a member of the Strata Community Association (Qld) and a guest speaker at their 2018 and 2021 Annual Conferences on the subjects of management rights disputes, remedial action notices, and by-law enforcement.

Mario regularly publishes newsletters on recent developments in Body Corporate law, including for Smart Strata. An article he wrote in 2021 about by-laws that lawfully restrict short-term letting was our third most-read newsletter for 2021 and maybe reviewed here.

HWL Ebsworth is a full-service commercial law firm with offices in nine locations, including Adelaide, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. Mario is based in their Brisbane Office but also does work for Owners Corporations located in Victoria and NSW.

Reminder: Gold Coast Seminar happening tomorrow!

Last night we held the first of the seminar series on the Sunshine Coast with a fantastic crowd despite the wet and rainy conditions.  We look forward to providing you with a full wrap up in next week’s Strata Update.
