This week we announce the presenters of the Sunshine Coast Seminar, the final stop of our October roadshow. It is our pleasure to introduce Andrew Suttie partner at Nicholsons Solicitors and James Nickless partner at Chambers Russell Lawyers. Andrew and James will be two of the Sunshine Coast seminar presenters that will provide answers to the question that is recurring for many strata committees, By-laws: Are they worth the paper they are written on?

Andrew Suttie – Nicholsons Solicitors

Andrew practices exclusively in strata law. He is a Fellow of the Australian College of Strata Lawyers, a Fellow of Strata Community Association (Qld) and was awarded the SCA (Qld) President’s Award in 2019 for his outstanding leadership in the strata industry. Andrew’s extensive knowledge of strata law facilitates strategic solutions to complex matters and the efficient delivery of advice and services across a wide range of strata issues. His commitment to the strata community led him to act as Director of SCA (Qld) from 2012 – 2016 and he was the former chairperson of the legislation and policy committees for both SCA (Qld) and SCA (National). With almost two decades of experience under his belt, Andrew’s clients appreciate his personability, punctuality and pragmatism. Andrew is a regular presenter, publisher and advocate for the wider strata industry.

James Nickless – Chambers Russell Lawyers

James Nickless is a Partner of Chambers Russell Lawyers and manages the firm’s Queensland practice.  James is an expert in strata title law and litigation with extensive experience in general commercial litigation, building and construction disputes, debt recovery, and insolvency.  James served on the legislation committee of Strata Community Association (QLD) from 2013 to 2019, and was elected to its Board of Directors in 2016.

As an experienced negotiator and litigator, James has acted on behalf of bodies corporate, lot owners, builders, developers, banks and other lenders, liquidators, trustees and receivers, public and private companies, as well as government authorities.

James is passionate about advancing the strata industry and is regularly engaged in advocating on behalf of the strata industry to government, the media and key stakeholders as well as presenting seminars on various aspects of strata law and professional development to clients, industry groups and Universities.

Alongside Andrew and James will be the recently announced Chris Irons – Strata Solve, Trevor Rawnsley – ARAMA and Archers the Strata Professionals partner Grant Mifsud.
