COST OF LIVING REBATE
As you would be aware, the Queensland Government is providing a $1000 Cost of Living Rebate (CoLR) to eligible households and a $325 rebate to eligible small businesses in 2024-25, including those in privately owned embedded networks. These rebates are to be automatically credited as a one-off lump sum payment to eligible customer accounts from July 2024.
The Commonwealth Government is also providing additional support in 2024-25 with a $300 rebate for eligible households and a $325 rebate for eligible small businesses. For embedded network customers, these rebates will also be automatically credited as a one-off lump sum payment to customer accounts from July 2024. (Note that for customers of an authorised retailer, the Commonwealth rebates are to be credited in quarterly instalments.)
Consistent with 2023-24, your customers will not need to apply for these rebates, however embedded network providers will need to apply to their retailer for the rebates on behalf of their eligible residents/tenants. Retailers will process the application forms and apply a bulk credit to each embedded network provider’s account. Providers must then pass the rebates onto individual customers in their next bill. Application forms will be made available online prior to 1 July 2024.
For all rebates, details around customer eligibility, payment amounts and timing, payment processes and rebate claim forms are provided in these Fact Sheets and Q&As.

Why does rebate apply to Electricity only. ?
There is $80+ Rebate for Gas for eligible people.
I have been told by Origin Gas due to our apartment block being Embedded Gas Supply one is not entitled.
I do not understand why embedded Electricity is ok but not same for Gas.
Also told Origin has been asking same question to State and Federal Governments for a long time.
