COMMUNITY EDUCATION SEMINARS – TOWNSVILLE & CAIRNS NEXT WEEK! ARPC CHIEF EXECUTIVE INTRODUCED!
The Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation Chief Executive introduced as part of the ongoing seminar series, which has now reached its halfway mark. The next two NQ events, “Insurance: Affordability and Accountability,” will take place in Townsville on Wednesday, 30th October, and in Cairns on Thursday, 31st October. This seminar series covers two major topics: “Insurance: Affordability and Accountability” (NQ) and “By-Laws: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” (SEQ).
In our North Queensland seminar series, our panel of experts will explore Insurance – Affordability and Accountability. They will explore the re-insurance pool touted to assist with making insurance more affordable and also accountability of the insurers and brokers entrusted to provide the best value insurance cover terms for clients. They will explain the current status of the re-insurance pool and how to best utilise the options. They will also detail what measures are in place to disclose who is actually receiving your payment for insurance cover, what service is provided at each stage to receive any payments for managing your insurance policy and compulsory payment disclosure requirements along with additional best practice requirements to be totally transparent.

Introducing Christopher Wallace, Chief Executive – Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation
Chris Wallace is an insurance executive with experience in general insurance, workers compensation, health insurance, medical indemnity, and reinsurance. He has worked extensively in insurance leadership roles within insurers and as a consultant to the insurance industry.
Chris has leadership experience in most aspects of the insurance sector including small, specialised insurers and large insurers, he is also a non-executive director and Chair of MIPS Insurance Pty Ltd, a medical indemnity insurer. Through his role with ARPC, Chris is also a member of the OECD High Level Advisory Board for the Financial Management of Large-Scale Catastrophe Risks.
Previous professional roles include being General Manager Workers Compensation at GIO, Executive Director at Ernst & Young, and General Manager Benefits Management at HCF.
ARPC is a member of the International Forum for Terrorism Risk (Re) Insurance Pools, where Chris is also President.
Chris has a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, specialising in general insurance pricing and strategy. He is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, a Certified Insurance Professional, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
