My name is Ross Britton I am a Cairns local and have just become the Jim’s Bin Cleaning Franchisors for Qld and the Franchisee’s for Cairns, which began operation in September 2019.
As locals I am very aware of the high impact that plastics and pollutants are having on our Reef and this was a major factor in the sourcing of our specialised and environmentally-friendly equipment to clean Wheelie Bins. I not only wanted to provide the highest level of service with our 100% satisfaction guarantee at a cost-effective price but also that I could ensure it was completed in the most environmentally and sustainable way.
Many homes, businesses, event organisers, Authorities and locals Councils choose to use single-use wheelie bin bags to try and keep their bins clean to prevent odours, flies, maggots, bacteria and vermin. While others choose to wash out their bins either using or not non-biodegradable chemicals and allowing the polluted water to flow into the stormwater, which is a breach of the Environmental Protection Act and thus fineable by Council. Both of these methods are definitely not environmentally friendly, with either increased use of single-use plastic bags or the increased use and risks of harmful chemicals entering our waterways and then onto our Reef.
I believe we have the solution. Our Jim’s Bin Cleaning System is mounted on the back of a tray back utility and offers the mobility to access most wheelie bins wherever they are located. It stores its own water on board and will be using Non-Potable water supplied by Cairns Regional Council, saving on freshwater usage. The two chemicals used, a low concentration cleaner and deodoriser/sanitiser are both locally sourced and are environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Any solid waste matter is removed through a filter and removed off-site. The cleaning process recycles the water after the bin has been cleaned and then runs it through a multistage filter process to then is returned to the tank for reuse.
Our system can clean all Wheelie Bins, Domestic & Commercial, including 120ltr, 240ltr, 360ltr, 660ltr & 1100ltr in an environmentally safe, timely and cost effective way.
As a new small business, we are endeavouring to contact as many environmentally conscious organisations directly, so they are aware of our new cost-effective service.
Our goal is to expand the Jim’s ‘Environmentally and Sustainable’ Bin Cleaning System throughout Queensland reducing water, single use plastic and harsh chemical usage.
