The addition of solar power systems can provide numerous benefits to a strata scheme and its residents and can include; lower electric bills, lower carbon footprint, and potentially higher property values.
But these benefits typically come with substantial installation and ongoing maintenance costs. Therefore the magnitude of these benefits can vary widely from one Strata Scheme to another. The approval process can also vary substantially depending on the installation details.
This week we are eager to announce the first of our expert panellist who will speak at our upcoming South East QLD education seminars on the cost vs benefit of solar and the varying installation types.
Introducing Ben Humphreys, HumEnergy

This should be interesting especially for anyone new to solar strata. In the context of embedded networks where yes consumption drops but demand KVA is often not impacted as it’s normally peak during no solar hours such that the c/KWh ends up higher as spread over lower overall site consumption.
One of the greatest challenges I’ve found is finding a racking solution for TPO sheet that minimises or removes penetrations in order to maintain waterproofing warranties.
It would be very worthwhile to provide access to these seminars via a web link. Most of our professional organisations in business do this using varying videoconferencing facilities.
