Queensland’s Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management (BCCM) have launched a new free online training program designed to help stakeholders better understand the key aspects of body corporate legislation and how it operates in practice.

Who the New Online BCCM Training is For
While the training has been primarily developed with committee members in mind, it’s accessible to anyone with an interest in body corporate matters. This makes it a valuable resource for a wide range of stakeholders, including:

- Property and building managers.
- Industry partners and suppliers.

What the New Online BCCM Training Covers
The online program is designed to introduce you to the key principles of body corporate management and offer practical insights into your responsibilities. It’s not an accredited course, and completing it won’t result in a formal qualification, but it does provide a solid foundation of information.
Core topics include:
- Body Corporate Committees and Meetings – Roles, meeting types, processes and decision-making.
- General Meetings – How general meetings are called, run, and documented.
- Financial Management – Budgeting, funds (administrative and sinking), spending and reporting.
- Maintenance – Responsibilities for maintenance.
- By-Laws – Understanding the role, application and enforcement of by-laws.
These modules are structured to give an overview of legislative requirements and practical information you can apply in your scheme.
Additional Learning Options
In addition to the general training above, the BCCM also offers a separate dispute resolution training module. This covers ways to resolve disagreements within a community titles scheme, including:
- Self-resolution.
- Conciliation.
- Adjudication.
- Interim Orders.
There’s also training geared to schemes under the Building Units and Group Titles Act, which covers committee meetings and by-laws for those specific schemes.
How to Access the Training
The online training is completely free. All you need to do is register through the BCCM’s online training portal. Once registered, you can log in at any time to start or continue your learning.

Good afternoon
My friend has sent me this link to training. I am new to body corporate world and have been voted in as an ordinary member of the committee, about to be changed to Chairman.
Whilst I am familiar (from my career / now retired 18 months ago) with interpreting relevant employment legislations, I’ve had no involvement in Body Corporate until now. Any training would be greatly appreciated.
