Strata Law Reform – Regulation Changes Released!
Coinciding with our upcoming community education seminars, draft regulatory changes have been announced by the Queensland Government and community consultation on the draft changes commenced.
In this update we have provided a list of the areas of proposed changes with access to full details published. We encourage all stakeholders to review these proposed changes and consider how they will affect you and your strata community. You will have the opportunity to have your say with information on how contribute included and also encourage you to come along to our next round of seminars to find out more from the experts we have organised to explain what these changes will really mean for you.
The areas of reform include:
Body corporate committee membership
Committee meetings
The first Annual General Meeting
General Meetings
Body corporate managers and caretaking service contractors
Financial management
Property Management
Insurance
Administrative matters.
The Queensland Government has produced a summary of the changes which provides an overview of the impact the regulatory reforms will have on each of these areas.

You are invited to have your say on a consultation draft of the Body Corporate and Community Management (Standard Module) Regulation 2019. proposed to replace the current Body Corporate and Community Management (Standard Module) Regulation 2008

I’m in an Accommodation module, can you please tell me when the changes to that module will be released.
Hi Barry,
The Government has not announced a date the other modules will be released yet however a recent BCCM office update indicated “in the coming weeks”. We will publish a further update once notified though. Thanks again for your interest.
