UPDATE: Queensland wide restrictions eased – Face masks remain

From 6am Friday 23 July, several restrictions will be eased across South East Queensland in line with the rest of the state. These include density caps, capacity limits and fewer COVID-safe plans.

• Masks: 
  • SEQ residents in impacted areas, will continue to wear masks in all settings outside of their homes for another 7 days until Friday 30 July.

• Indoor premises: 
  • One person per 2m² or 100% allocated seated and ticketed capacity (e.g. restaurants, cafés, pubs, clubs, museums, art galleries, places of worship and convention centres).
  • One person per 2m² for commercial residential facilities (including hostels, B&Bs and short term rentals).
  • One person per 2m² at indoor play areas and unattended retail and need to comply with the new COVID Safe Checklist.*

• Gatherings:
  • Limits of 100 people in private gatherings in your home and indoors
  • No limit for people gathering in outdoor public spaces across Queensland.

Template Signage

SCA (Qld) has created template signage for committees to place around their schemes to clarify the applicable restrictions for body corporate schemes.

Check In Qld app mandatory for more sectors

In addition to the hospitality sector, from 1am Friday 9 July, the Check In Qld app will be mandatory for a number of new sectors, including:

• leisure and recreation facilities, such as gyms, health clubs, indoor sports facilities and indoor pools*
  • *There is clarification in the updated check in requirements that pools in apartment complexes do not have mandatory check in requirements
• short-term residential facilities such as hotels, boarding houses and short-term holiday rentals
• shopping centres and supermarkets
• beauty and personal care service, such as hairdressing, beauty therapy and nail services
• indoor events, such as cultural festival and expos
• outdoor events, such as fun runs and fetes
• outdoor recreation, such as caravan parks, camping areas, zoos and aquariums
