So what conclusions can we draw from our Top 10 list of 2021?

It would appear that even in 2021 when smoking rates are in decline in Australia, it obviously still causes significant angst in our strata communities with the top 2 most read newsletters both including articles on smoking disputes and living with smoke drift.

It would also appear that our sharing of information from the Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management is popular, humbling us that readers choose Smart Strata as their way to stay up to date with regulations and best practices.  It is our intent to make strata simple by cutting through the noise and bringing you the information that matters.  While we would always recommend that you familiarise yourself with the Commissioners website (Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management | Your rights, crime and the law | Queensland Government (www.qld.gov.au), we will continue to review this site for relevant topics.

In comparison to 2020, COVID-19 certainly became less of a interesting topic with many articles written on the topic not making the Top 10 list.  With the changing COVID landscape in Queensland and the first real introduction of high case numbers since the beginning of the pandemic, we will be watching this space in 2022 as new tensions could arise within buildings experiencing COVID outbreaks, and the ever adapting regulations and restrictions being delivered from Queensland Government.  As a Committee it is important that you stay abreast of this topic and create your own policies for compliance.

Another key takeaway for us when analysing this list is that our Community Education Seminars remain popular.  50% of the Smart Strata Updates that made the list included information and a link to book at one of our seminars which are held throughout Queensland twice a year.  We bring these seminars face to face (where possible) on key topics faced by Body Corporate Committees and Owners.  Our dates and locations for May 2022 will be available shortly.

We sincerely hope you have enjoyed the content we provided throughout the year and look forward to keeping it relevant to you. If you have read this far, no doubt you have a keen interest in the topics we publish. Finally, and most importantly, a big thanks to all of our article contributors who dedicate their time and expertise, helping us stay relevant to your strata education needs.

Looking forward to working together with all stakeholders to make 2022 another informative and connected year in strata!
